The First SEGA Genesis Mix was a 5 Game series with a bit of a random selection: X-Men 2: Clone Wars, Garfield: Caught in The Act, Super Street Fighter II, Rock ‘N’ Roll Racing and Greendog
X-Men 2 Clone Wars (Action) – I don’t remember ever playing this game but the first level in particular looks very familiar. I have seen this on people’s Top 10 or Top 25 lists for SEGA Genesis games, and after playing it, that doesn’t surprise me. The controls were very responsive and there was some cool level design and enemy patterns. I was pretty impressed with the game even if I got frustrated and got a Game Over. I made it up to Level 3-4 and died at the boss fight against Exodus.
Garfield: Caught in The Act (Platformer) – This game looks fun, and by watching the demo it seems like there are some cool levels to play, but this game is HARD. And it wasn’t even a fun/challenging type of hard, it was very CHEAP. I played this with my wife and we made it up to the boss of the first level, but couldn’t figure out if we were actually damaging it or not. It was very frustrating and seemed to be very unforgiving and cheap. I was pretty frustrated with it. I’m going to look into seeing if I was doing something wrong, or if this game is actually that cheap.
Super Street Fighter II (Fighter) – I use to love the Street Fighter II series, but Read the rest of this entry
How is it Related to the Nintendo Switch? This summer Splatoon 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch!! Of course it makes sense to go back and play the original to get a taste of what we’re gonna see on the Switch!
I still hadn’t completed the single player campaign from the original Splatoon, so I went back and finished off the final 2 levels and the boss fight!!
How is it Related to the Nintendo Switch? Super Mario Galaxy 2 is considered the last “real” Super Mario game in a 360degree world. A lot of people consider Wii U’s Super Mario 3D World to be a different series. With Nintendo’s announcement of Super Mario Odyssey coming Holiday 2017 for the Nintendo Switch, I thought it would be fun to go back and play some Super Mario Galaxy 2. A reminder of how great the Super Mario games really are.
I actually played this through the Virtual Console on the Wii U, not with my physical Wii copy. I hadn’t completed the main game before this play through, and I was a bit rusty remembering the controls or being quick in maneuvering, but it all eventually came back. I cleared the last world of the main game. This is my favorite game from the Wii, I hope Mario Odyssey is just as good!
How is it Related to the Nintendo Switch? On April 28th Nintendo is releasing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch. It will include all of the tracks and characters from Mario Kart 8 + The DLC Characters and Tracks + An Improved Battle Mode with New Battle Courses.
Just played a couple of circuits on 100cc. I’m not quite the pro at Mario Kart 8 like I am at ones from the past. Luckily there’s room to grow when I play on the Switch.
